About Us

Karen AKA SmashGal

I began playing tennis several years ago as a way to meet people in my new neighborhood. Even though I lost every match the first season, I became hooked on tennis. I played on many leagues in the area and played year round. I tried to get everyone I knew involved in tennis because I have always believed the saying, “The more the merrier”.

One of the things I liked about playing on leagues is that I met so many people over the years and built friendships from those meetings, Jackie and I have often wished that we had more time to play more tennis. One day the thought struck us! We should be working in the tennis arena so we had more time for tennis.

At the time, we had several friends who were single that were always trying to find ways to meet other single people in the area. We listened to their tales of online dating, blind dates, and other avenues they had tried. I have been married for 18 years and would secretly think, “I don’t think I would even know how to date anymore or where to find someone to date.” That is how we came up with the idea of a tennis league that was designed specifically so that single people could meet other single people in their area.

I hope that you have as much enjoyment in tennis as I have over the years and wish you the best in finding new friends and possibly that special someone!

Jackie AKA Smackie

When Karen FORCED me to start playing tennis, I didn’t think it would be that much fun. I was wrong. When I became single again, I thought it would be a lot of fun. I was wrong.

The idea of meeting someone on the tennis courts has always been appealing since I believe tennis players already have a few personality traits in common: the love of outdoor sports, the pull of competitive play and the elation you feel when that little yellow ball hits right on the sweet spot in the middle of the strings.

Despite the fact that I am currently out of the dating circuit, I want you singles to get out there in a healthy, invigorating environment and meet each other. We wish you the highest success in your tennis game and hope you become a spark in someone’s eye along the way. In the meantime, carry your racket proudly and continue playing as much as you can. You never know when you'll meet a rock star.

Thanks also to Jeff "ROCKS" for this incredible web design, and thanks to Brian Christian for designing the best logo E.V.E.R.

Final Thought:

Tennis and dating are both highly competitive sports. My advice is to play both hard and fair with confidence, not arrogance.
