Q. What is CourtMeTennis.com?
A. CourtMe Tennis is a league for single adults who are interested in meeting other single adults in their area and playing tennis with them.
Q. How does this league work?
A. Each week CourtMeTennis will group you with 5 other players in your area who play at your skill level. You will receive an email on the Friday before you are scheduled to play that gives you the details of the other 5 players, including the host and the information about the courts where you will be playing. The following Friday, you will meet your group and play tennis. 4 of the 6 players will begin playing while the other 2 players sit on the sidelines, watch the match and socialize. At the end of 6 games, the 2 players will step in and begin playing, while 2 other players sit out and socialize. This rotation will allow everyone time to play and to socialize. The following week you will get another email with the information on 5 additional players that you will play at the next event. This format allows you to meet new people every other week and have some great tennis matches. PLEASE NOTE that there may be some weeks when you will have more than 6 people playing or less than 6 people playing because of unreported absences or uneven numbers of people in your area and in your skill level. We will make every attempt to keep the numbers even but cannot control some circumstances.
Q. What is the order of play?
A. With 6 people playing, there should be 3 “teams”. Team A, B and C. Each team should consist of 1 male and 1 female player. The Host may determine who plays with whom, unless all 6 CourtMeTennis members collectively decide how the teams will be matched.
When team A and B are playing, C can socialize.
When team B and C are playing, A can socialize.
When team C and A are playing, B can socialize.
This enables everyone to play 2 “sets” and to socialize 1 “set”. CourtMeTennis wants you to have fun playing tennis and also have the opportunity to get to know your fellow players.
Q. What are the membership rules?
A. Members of Court Me Tennis are expected to abide by the agreed upon Terms of Use. Common courtesy and fair, reasonable and responsible behavior is expected from all members at all times. Court Me Tennis takes the respectful treatment of each member seriously and reserves the right to address any violations with appropriate action. Falsification of any information submitted to Court Me Tennis is strictly prohitibited, including marital status. You must be legally single in order to participate in the league.
Q. When do we play?
A. Every other Friday at 7:30pm.
Q. How much and how often will I get to play?
A. You will play every other Friday. With the rotation of players you will get to play 2 “sets” of tennis for each Friday session.
Q. What does CourtMeTennis call a set?
A. A “set” is a series of games that ends when one team reaches 6 points. For example, if the game score is 6-4, the “set” is complete, and a rotation of teams will happen.
Q. How far will I have to drive and where will I play?
A. CourtMeTennis will try to match you with people as near your home as possible. The distance will depend on how many people in your area and at your level join CourtMeTennis. We ask that our members refer potential members. The more people we have playing, the closer we can keep you to your home.
Q. How do I refer my friends?
A. On the home page, there is a button to choose if you want to refer friends. Click on that button and enter the information requested and we will do the rest, or you can let your friends know about CourtMeTennis, and when they sign up there will be an area for them to enter your name as the person who referred them.
Q. Does referring people to CourtMeTennis benefit me?
A. Of COURSE! We can keep you closer to home if there are many people to choose from in your area. Also, as a thank you, CourtMeTennis will send you movie passes after you refer 3 friends who join and indicate that you have referred them. Refer 6 people who join and indicate that you have referred them and get a gift card for a restaurant in your area.
Q. How do I register?
A. Go to the home page, click on the Register button and enter the information requested. Then, pay the annual fee and we take care of the rest. The registration page is simple and easy to use. It will take only minutes to complete.
Q. What is the fee?
A. Our special Annual membership is $35. Take advantage of it now before it changes!
Q. What do I get for that fee?
A. You will be matched with 5 players every other Friday to play tennis. Q. Do we have to enter scores after sets?
A. No. CourtMeTennis is strictly a social tennis league, not recreational. The purpose is to facilitate meetings between singles in your area who want a new and healthy place in which to meet other people.
Q. Am I supposed to bring food?
A. No one is required to bring anything, except for the Host supplying the unopened can of tennis balls. You may want to remember to bring your own water or beverages in order to stay properly hydrated during your sets.
Q. What happens if it rains on a night when we are supposed to play?
A. In the case of inclement weather, it is up to you and your 5 players to decide if the courts are unplayable. If it is decided that the courts are unplayable, the Host should email admin@courtmetennis.com, and a new night will be selected for you and the rest of your group. CourtMeTennis will make every attempt to schedule all matches throughout your annual membership; however, there is no guarantee in the event of inclement weather.
Q: What happens if all the players don't show up?
A: If you know you cannot attend one of your matches, we ask that you notify admin@courtmetennis.com as soon as possible, because that will give us time to send a replacement player. If someone does not notify CourtMeTennis and does not show up for a match, you may still play and socialize with the remaining attendees. If case of a no-show, please contact us to let us know.
Q: What if there aren't enough players in my area?
A: In this inaugural launch, we will make every attempt to make sure you get to play tennis every other Friday night with 5 other members. Please help us spread the word so that membership in your area and any surrounding areas makes it possible for there to be plenty of full matches - YOU are the success of this league!
